I also felt bad for Syms as he truly believed no one cared he was gone. Some beautiful imagery in the Galapagos Islands and I loved the sense of exploration and discovery in this section.
Syms also comes across a small lizard called Farthing who I love with my whole entire heart!! Their friendship is really something beautiful. I adore the setting in the first part of this book as Syms navigates this small island, which just so happens to home an active volcano. I really enjoyed the story in this one from the get-go as the short chapters brings us into the plot rather quickly, and we find ourselves on the island with Syms before we know it. Syms comes across a small volcanic island where it appears that dragons might be real, thus making the discovery of a lifetime. A remarkable adventure story about the cabin boy Syms who falls overboard during a voyage with Charles Darwin.
